Jeff Beck viene avviato al mondo della muisca, quella seria, dalla madre. Ma la sua vera passione è il Rock'n'Roll, e già a tredici anni si costruisce la sua prima rudimentale chitarra elettrica. A quindici anni suona con i Deltones i brani strumentali degli Shadows, ma poi la svolta verso il Soul ed il Blues.
Tra il 1965 ed il 1966, quando Eric Clapton abbandona gli Yardbirds per entrare nella Band John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Jeff Beck entra nella storia del Rock, diventando uno degli artefici della magica stagione del gruppo, portando con se fantasia, imprevedibilità e tecniche moderne.
